Field Care & Preparation
The quality of your mount largely depends on the level of care taken in the field immediately following your harvest. If you have any questions on how you should prepare your animal before drop off or if you need guidance on caping your animal, please give me a call- i’d be happy to help!

Do not field dress your bird if you intend to have it mounted.
If you can’t bring your bird in to the studio right away, gently tuck the head of the bird under one of the wings, wrap the head and feet with a damp paper towel, double bag your bird & freeze immediately.
-
Leave plenty of hide- when in doubt, cut long.
Avoid cutting up the back of the neck
Leave the head attached, if possible.
